Hi Cisco Community,
I've been tasked with managing our network and i'm being told by contractors that our new installation of 70 x AIR-AP1832I-E-K9 AP's needs to be replaced because the units are EOL. I've done some digging and can see that the Last Date of Support is 30/04/2026. We need to stay up to date for security reasons, however I need to be 100% sure that we absolutely must upgrade right away.. or can we wait?
We also have two 3504 WLC's.. are these also up for renewal? because it looks like they are supported up until 2027. Or am I getting the terminology wrong. It's huge expense that I'd like to avoid for a while if possible.
Thanks for your time

Hi Energy ETO ,
You aren't getting the terminologies wrong , AIR-AP1832I-E-K9's last day of support is in 2026 & 3504 WLC's in 2027 .
Therefore , you don't have to replace them immediately & you can wait .

As long as they are upgrade to Cisco recommended version (you can avoide some kind of security risk)
But upgrading Wireless network that including replacing AP and testing, also Long waiting of order deliveries.
i would expect to start year before they go end of life (i suggested this because financial investment required)
When you decided to move look for Cat 9800 WLC Controllers with Cat 91XX AP for Longitive support.
