ASA losing Config after reboot.

Hi,

Our ASA 5515 is loosing the config after a reboot.

First of all I copied the running config to the startup config.

What I am noticing is that when I do show version, the configuration register is as follows: Configuration register is 0x1

Is this the problem and shall I change the configuration register to: 0X2102

Thanks & Regards,

Adrian

No 0x1 should be good , whats the bootvar show ---show bootvar

The default configuration register value is 0x1. For more information about the configuration register, see the Cisco ASA 5500 Series Command Reference.

Thanks for your reply.

The bootvar is showing the following:

BOOT variable = disk0:/asa861-smp-k8.bin;disk0:/asa914-smp-k8.bin
Current BOOT variable = disk0:/asa861-smp-k8.bin;disk0:/asa914-smp-k8.bin
CONFIG_FILE variable =
Current CONFIG_FILE variable =

So your image is there but looks like bootvar is missing config file to load up but your saving to startup so it should show up  , take look at this link you can manually set it in config and shows few quick steps , try wr in case just as another option to copy run start

Thanks for your reply. I will have a look.

Is it normal that a Cisco 3750 switch do not have the command show bootvar?

Thanks

3750 should have show boot

Thanks :)
