I inherited a "brand new" PI, running version 3.3.0.0.342. It has Cisco WLC5508 added and all the APs are showing up. However one confusing thing: I can not get rid of the link down critical alarms, such as
Port '4' (Description: 'Not Available') is down on device
'192.168.192.1'.
There are only two ports on the WLC5508 in use and others are not plugged in...
Under WLC web UI, I did disable the trap control for "Link (Port) Up/Down"...
I also created a alarm policy to suppress the Link down alarm on WLC...
None of these helped as the same alarms come up pretty quick after I manually clear them...
Inside the alarm message, the general section:
Failure Source

192.168.192.1:wlc-lab-1:e0:5f:b9:10:10:11

Advice? BTW, if NMS generates the alarm, does it mean PI itself did that?

- Check this thread; the idea is to disable the unused ports on the controller :

It works but still feel that is a bad workaround...
