My ccp could not discover the router device, here are the messages: Security Applet failed on device 192.168.3.1 with error Cisco CP lost communication with the device. Check the connection between the PC and the device, then rediscover the device. The second message was:Device 192.168.3.1 cannot be discovered. See help for more information. Pls, I need a help. I could ping the router from my laptop and do the same from the other side but ccp was not able to discover the router device. I have tried all possible means to fix it, closed all firewall but still the problem remains. CCP version 2.7 running on windows 8, Java 8 and internet explorer 11. Please forward the solution to this address= Stephenona@yahoo.com. I will appreciate your help. Tanx

Did you verify the config on the router side?

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_configuration_professional_express/v2_7/guides/adminguide/CCPExpress_Admin_Guide/installing_ccp_express_adminview.html

Can you share the router's output? You should connect to the router via console:

>enable "followed by enable password if configured"

#show run

#dir all

And post the output of this command as attached file.

hi Pamela, here is the router run config:

I have been away for sometimes now, that is why I replied late. Am still facing same problem.Tanx for your support. Stephen

You can try enabling ssl:

ip http secure-server

Also, please paste the output of the command "dir all"

  • Hi Pamela, I reconfigured the Router as you can see from below. CCP was able to discover the Router. But when I tried to configure the Router using CCP Folder on the left by clicking Configure--Router--- Time---NTP and SNTP  I got this message: Internal error occurred. Close Cisco Configuration Professional and restart the application. It took several minutes before the message was displayed.

Am running windows 8, 2.6 CCP, Internet Explorer 11, Adobe flash 18, Java Version 8.

I appreciates your effort

Ok, I think the issue is out of the router config now. Did you run CCP as Admin? Also notice that Cisco CP Express is supported on these browsers:
• Mozilla Firefox 10, or later
• Google Chrome 17, or later
