Changing file locations for LMS 3.1

Hi all,

We run LMS 3.1 on Windows 2003 in a VMware environment. The size of the virtual hard drive is limited by the version of VMware that we use to 250 GB, but we can have multiple 250 GB drives.

Is there a way I can change the location of some of the CiscoWorks files such as the log files? It would be nice if I can change the entire root of the log files.

Thanks in advance,

No, you cannot change the log file path. However, you can relocate the configuration archive and the software image repository. The former is done under RME > Admin > Configu Mgmt > Archive Settings, and the latter under RME > Admin > Software Mgmt > View/Edit Preferences.

These two directories can get quite large, so moving them to a separate file system may be all you need.

You can also configure logrot to periodically rotate log files to keep them at a manageable size. This can be done in the GUI under Common Services > Server > Admin > CS Log Configurations.
