Cisco 2960 Catalyst Series No IOS

I am having an issue with two of my Cisco Catalyst switches, these are from the 2960 series and have been hard reset due to the passwords locking them, being lost. Because of the hard reset, they have no IOS. How would I go about resolving this? Would I be able to use CLI and try upgrading it to the IOS I have externally stored?

Hi @jacksanstra,

Indeed, you can copy the IOS to your devices so that they have IOS again.

hard reset and you lost IOS ? go to Switch mode again, init flash and see files with dir flash:
then see settings with set command, change boot file if needed, then type boot

unless u format flash. files like ios still should be there.

So someone's changed the password and also erased the IOS.  Sounds like someone left the company in bad terms.

If the switch is ROMMON, do you have a valid Service Contract to download the IOS?
