I recently purchased a cisco asa 5508-x and tried to change the default ip to 192.168.10.1 but failed. my lan ip is 192.168.10.x and i have many machines with fixed ip. what is the best workaround? tq

Hello there,

An easy solution will be for you to erase the start up default configuration. At the ASA5508# prompt type wr erase, then answer NO to the yes/no question prompted and reload.
Then you can proceed to configure any ip address suitable to you.

You can use a laptop and assign an static IP ADD in the same subnet of the ASA, so you can gain access the GUI interfaces and then modify the default IP ADD in the ASA to suit your network.
The othe solution is to reconfigure the ASDM on your ASA by following the instructions on the below link:
