Cisco LMS - Migrating from HW platform to VM

Hi,

is it possible to migrate existing LMS 2.6 installed on HW server to virtual machine without any licence needed?

Afterwards we want to upgrade it to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 (with upgrade licences of course).

Thanks for response.

Hello Richards,

It's not possible to migrate to CPI 1.2 directly from LMS 2.6. If you want to export your inventory you have to generate a .CSV file, as recommended on the following the procedure:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6504/ps6528/ps12239/deployment_guide_c07-721232.html#wp9000692

Remebering that if you have your LMS running into a windows machine you must be aware to the file system (NTFS, FAT32 to Ext3).

Even without a platform change, LMS 2.x or 3.x to LMS 4.x requires a purchased major upgrade license.

If you purchase PI 1.2 now, you get included LMS 4.2 license. PI 2.0 (which is coming soon) will discontinue this offer although PI 1.2 will still be orderable.

See Table 5 here.
