Hello,
It appears there is a problem with the creation of VLANs using Cisco Network Assistant v6.2 and the following Switch / IOS combinations;
WS-C2960CX-8PC-L 15.2(3)E1-UniversalK9
WS-C2960X-24TS-L 15.2(2)E1-UniversalK9
For example, in Front Panel view, if I …
- Select the switch
- Click the VLANs icon
- Select the Configure VLANs tab of the VLANs window
- Select Create (enter VLAN info)
- Click Apply
- Click OK
Everything will seem to have been performed properly. However, if I then go back to the VLAN window, the just created VLAN will not appear. This seems to be very repeatable with the above switch / IOS combinations. If I telnet to the switch and create the VLAN via the command line, it will then appear in the VLAN window and will remain.
Interestingly enough, it appears that a WS-C2960-24TC-L running IOS version 15.0(2)EX5-UniversalK9 does not have this problem – VLANs created with CNA will persist after creation rather than disappearing.
Three questions:
- Is this a known flaw in Cisco Network Assistant v6.2?
- Will this likely be remedied in the next version (6.3)?
- What is the latest word on a release date for 6.3?
Thank You,
Dale M.
