hi all,
Today I have faced power problem which impact the Prime ESXi VM and when I tried to start the ESXi VMware I have received the following error message
“Feature vsmp not licensed, requires 16 have 8” because we have the stander license and we should have the Enterprise Plus license to support the current number of VCPU.
can I downgrade the number of virtual processor to 4 as i have not license for 16 processors??
if yes is this will be supported from cisco with 4 virtual CPU's ???

Hi Mohamed,
This is a licensing issue on the ESX host itself which is preventing you from moving forward. Take a look at the links below from VMware/other sources on something similar: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externa
lId=1029801 http://www.servethehome.com/vmware-esxi-50-feature-vsmp-licensed-requires-16-8-error-resol
ved/ This is not a Cisco side or an application issue with Prime Infrastructure.
Solution could be :
Cisco Prime Infrastructure Standard requires 16 virtual CPUs. According to the following link: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/2.0/quickstart/guide/cpi_qsg
.html#wp46865 However, Cisco Prime Infrastructure Express only requires 4 virtual CPUs. Thus, the solution could be 1. Installe Cisco Prime Infrastructure Express, instead of Standard. or 2. Licensing VMware vSphere 5 Enterprise Plus, instead of VMware vSphere 5 Standard.
Thanks-
Afroz
