Hello LMS community, I am a bit confused about how LMS 4.2 monitors interfaces that is shutdown and hope that you can share you experince with this problem.
I have a router with a vlan interface configured with an IP but shutdown.
Even though LMS detects the interface as shutdown, it report it as a an “Unresponsive error” in Fault manager.
This is a result of LMS trying to poll that IP interface, and since it is shutdown it cant reach it.
Is this really normal behavior? Are you seeing the same thing on your installations?
Would the logical thing be for LMS to ignore polling of any interface that is shutdown?
BR /Crille
Router output:
Vlan4059 10.130.94.38 YES NVRAM administratively down down
Alarms in Fault Manager (as you can see LMS have detected the interface as admin status down):

Hi ,
As the device is still managed in DFM though the Interface is down , you will get these alarms , however if you do want alerts for a specific interface or module then you can SUSPEND \ Resume it from:
Monitor > Fault Settings > Setup > Fault Device Details
Thanks-
