Clarification on Network management

Hi Team,

I would like clarifications on the below queries

1. Lets say a network administrator in a remote office is connecting a new managed switch or hub in the network, is it possible to proactively identify a new device installed in the network. This is because most of the times the administrators do not communicate the head office of this change

2. Is it possible to identify the number of unmanaged hubs that are there in the network.

Hi Manoj,

This is possible via the discovery feature of NMS tool. if you have  Device discovery option in your NMS, you need to sechduled the discovery let's say daily. it will  look for all the new devices added in your network. if  the devices  have the correct credentialls then it will be add automatically in you NMS.

by the way which NMS you are using ?
