Hi Folks,
Anyone know of any usefull tools that will provide you with a report that show's number of live / active ports v's non active, on your entire switched infrastructure.
Were running ciscoworks, but im not really sure if this does what were looking for longterm.
any help appreciated.

It sounds like the Campus Manager User Tracking application from the CiscoWorks LMS bundle would do what you need. It will list ports in use. There are also other new reports in the LMS 2.5 release (includes Campus Manager 4.0)
Unused Down ports (unconfigured, spare capacity)
Unused Up ports (configured, nobody using them - ie conference room)
Of course it also tracks normal ports.
Taking all that info together (you can export data for analysis) you could aggregate the data and customize a report with live/active, non-active ports. There isn't a single screen/report that give you a summary number tho.
