CW2000 and DNS

Hi,

I want CW2000 to show devices by there names rather than IP addresses. So I select 1 IP address from all my routers and use that address for DNS.

What happens if ANI discovers the router by one of its other IP addresses, is it clever enough to check all the other IP addresses that the router has and use the one that has a DNS reverse lookup up or will CW2000 just list this router by the IP address that it discovered it with

An excellent answer.

But if CW2000 does all this why does it bother with DNS and hosts at all. Why does it just do an SNMP query and create its own host file based on the IP address it discovered the device with and the SysName.
