Hello - I am trying to find some detailed information on IP SLA probes. We are implementing udp jitter probes in our network, but I am curious about what constitutes a test failure. Considering the default test parameters (10 packets, 10 bytes, spaced 10ms each 60 seconds) what does the test consider to be a failure? Is it based on the connection, number of packets received back, or are there other parameters?
Is there any documentation anywhere that details this?
thanks,
Alex

appreciate the response Sathvik. Maybe I asked incorrectly. What does ip sla consider a failed test? Is it as simple as no connection to the testing point? If that is the case, then everything else would be displayed in the sh ip sla statistics command. I could not find anything in the configuration documentation that stated what a test failure was, or could be a result of.

I think I have found what I was looking for, I had no idea there was an RFC for this application
