Evertime I o into DFM in Cisco Works 2000 I get an error message that asks to run "bin\DFMVlaidateUpgrade.bat"
After I run the batch file I choose option one and point to the CD ROM drive that has the DFM CD. That does not work. Where is th correct file to point it to? Do I need to call TAC and get some sort of license? I had to call TAC and get a license for my LMS 2.5 install becuase it was an upgrade. Any help would be appreciated..
Thank you,
Brandon

This is a known issue with the DFMValidateUpgrade.bat script
Bug id is CSCsa70833, the patch is available at the following location:

Okay, I loaded the patch and tried to run the cfmValidateUpgrade.bat file. Unfortunately when I try to run the batch file, and I input the "path to the CD rom", it fails.
Everytime I try to go into the DFM module within Cisco Works I get this error message, "This installed software requires reusing a license provided in a previous version. If a previous license is not available or proof of purchase validation was not performed, you may continue to run the product in NAG mode, while arranging with your Cisco representative to return this product and purchase a fully licensed version. To perform proof of purchase validation, please run the CLI utility d:cscopxindfmValidateUpgrade.bat""

What version of DFM CD do you have in the cdrom drive?
Are you running the dfmValidateUpgrade.bat by double-clicking or from a dos shell?

I have DFM version 2.0 CD in the CD ROM.
I have tried executing the batch file via command line and by double-clicking, both unsucessfully.

Ok, that's why it's failing. You are supposed to have the DFM 1.2 CD in the drive when doing the validation, not DFM 2.0
By the way, the proper way to run the script is via the command line

Okay,
DFM 1.2 CD was inserted into the server. The Batch file was run. I get th same error that I have been getting all along.. "Validate failed". I am running the batch file from command line, choosing option 1 for CD, and then identifying the CD ROM path. Still doesn't work.
Thank you,

Looks like it's time to contact TAC.
