Any ideas why the daily purge done by DFM fails everytime?
The error message in the dps.log file is "in\pdexec.cmd FHPurgeTask error=5" generated by the Daily Purge Schedule job.
Thanks

From the error message I think, DFM not able to start the purge process. Ciscoworks uses its own user called 'casuser'. Make sure the user has enough privleges to access the CSCOpx folder and its subfolders and also to the create new process like Notepad, Command prompt, etc.

Looks like the casusers group may be missing Read & Execute privs to cmd.exe in windows
Sometimes this is caused by security policy software making changes on the system

I've noticed something like that.
Not sure if it is rights. AFAIK path and rights for casuser are fine.
Seems like if CW wants to do a "create win32 process" it looks for cmd.exe in \CSCOpx and \CSCOpx\bin.
If it can't find it there it just gives up.
Try copying the cmd.exe in you \CSCOpx\bin
Cheers,
Michel

Yes it was the casusers group missing Read & Execute priveledges to cmd.exe in Windows.
Changed the rights on cmd.exe in system32 and the problem goes away.
Thanks
