Hi,
What if suddenly the DHCP server fails, how do u handle users? What will be quick solution? Assume there are about 500 users connected to server.

You can create the DHCP pool in a network device, such as a router or an L3 switch.
This could work until the DHCP server problem is resolved.

It all depends on how you design the DHCP Server in the environment, is the high availability required for business yes or no. ( Costing and so on the factor to take into accounts)
Technically you need to set up 2 DHCP Servers always, so one fails another one automatically serves the purpose.
make sure you split the IP to 2 DHCP Servers.
