Does ise patch installation cause downtime?

I'm trying to patch install 6ea ise consisting of pan/mnt and psn in version 3.2.

Does downtime occur between tasks?

as far as I recall, there is a downtime because the ISE node reboots. It is recommended to do any patch installations during a scheduled maintenance window...

Installing a patch on Cisco ISE will cause temporary downtime because the nodes need to reboot to apply the changes. This can lead to a service outage for a few minutes. If you want to minimize downtime you can Patch your ISE nodes during planned maintenance windows when users aren't actively relying on ISE services. This way, the downtime has minimal impact.
