Hello,
I have a strange behavior with Usertracking. It concerns a Catalyst 6509
switch having a portchanneling trunk to a Catalyst 2924XL-M switch.
About 40 end hosts belonging to access-ports on the 6509 are listed twice in
the Usertracking table.
The first entry states correctly the
access-port on the 6509, but the second
entry says that this host was also seen
on port "VL1" of the 2924.
But no end host is in VLAN1 (management vlan). Any ideas?

What is the User tracking system you're using? Is it campus manager? If so, make sure u r using the latest version of it?
If its a campus manager 4.0 SP 1 on Windows OS,try out the following steps.
The first step would below is to remove the history from the UT database and this is done
by a reinit of the database (the step is only for User tracking and will not wipe out
other campus info)
Open a dos or Unix shell and go to:
CSCOpx\campus\bin
Issue the command:
..\..\bin\perl reinitdb.pl -ut
Windows
net stop crmdmgtd (this will stop CiscoWorks)
Once it stops completely, edit your CSCOpx\campus\etc\cwsi\ANIServer.properties file
Change
UTIPChange=0
to
UTIPChange=1
Back to the DOS shell and:
net start crmdmgtd (this will start CiscoWorks)
Wait about 10 minutes or so and log back in (also check the ANIServer.properties
file and make sure that UTIPChange is still set to 1)

Usertracking is within Campus Manager 4.0 on SUN Solaris 8. I issued the reinitdb-Script, stopped
the ANIServer (pdterm ANIServer), did the suggested
changes in ANIServer.properties file und finally
started the ANIServer (pdexec ANIServer) again.
But the duplicate entries appeared again after a while.

This problem should be fixed in CM 4 service pack 3. Prior to this service pack UT was showing duplicate entries even after reinit of the database.
Which service pack are you running?

.. it should be resolved....
I had this issue even after updating LMS 2.5 with SP3. There is a patch available from TAC for this problem. This patch is for LMS 2.5 with SP2 installed.
Bug-Id is CSCsb22036.
