EEM - how many free vty lines required to execute EEM

Hi,

HW : RFGW10

SW : 150-2.SQD9

We have 11 free lines can be used for 10 EEM scripts, but still happen below execute error.

%HA_EM-3-FMPD_CLI_CONNECT: Unable to establish CLI session: no tty lines available, minimum of 2 required by EEM

%HA_EM-3-FMPD_ERROR: Error executing applet EEM10 statement 1.0

As my understanding EEM requires two free VTY,one is used for the EEM CLI session and the other must remain free.

But based on our test, it seems like we need to remain 2 free line,so if we want to execute 10 EEM scripts then required at least 12 available lines.

Any comments will be appreciate.

Best Regards,

Ellen

what is the device and what version of code running.

you can increase the VTY Lines of they are not free, yes it required minimum 2 to be free to run the script.

or check show users or sessions

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

It’s cisco  RFGW10 device used  150-2.SQD9 release.

We found similar question and Joe Clarke comments as below.

EEM requires two free VTY

EEM requires two free VTY lines when policies need to execute CLI commands.  One is for EEM, and the other is left so that humans don't get locked out.

But it seems like requires three free vty to execute EEM,one is for EEM and the other two line must remain free.

Best Regards,

Ellen
