we are using zscaler proxy, does every employee get proxy server ip as external IP?

or we get IP of the firewall as external ip?

If you are using forward proxy , then it will show proxy's IP else if you have transparent proxy, then it will show your real public IP

how would i know whether i am using forward proxy or transparent proxy? I'm using script:

http://pac.zscaler.net/XXX.com/wpad.dat.

anyway i can find my proxy server IP address?

This will be forward proxy configuration.

just a bit strange, yesterday I type what is my IP in google, it shows 213.166.*.50, now today it becomes: 213.166.*.90, does proxy server ip also can change?

my another question is: what's the advantage of using zscaler proxy? if we don't use proxy, does it mean unsafe to our LAN?

I use tracert www.google.com, after the package pass my switch ip, the hops become *.*.*.* request timeout, then how I verify it pass my proxy IP: 213.166.*.* when i try to connect google.com? thanks

Hello Peter,

For more detailed information on what your public IP address is, you will need to have access to your router and issue the command #show ip nat translations. This will show you all of the private to public ip translations for your local area network.
