Ahoy friends.
Currently i am doing studies for my CCNP but unfortunately there are no Cisco devices i can borrow from my university.
So i purchased some quite cheap devices, a Cisco 2900 series router, a Catalyst 2960G 24 Port switch, and SG300-28. They were still affordable.
So in case ofthe SG300 it was a little bit tricky, but possible to find the latest firmware, and the bridge firmware in order to flash the latest one.
But now, in case of the Catalyst 2960G i′m unable to find anything related to it. Its having a firmware from 2011, so quite old and rusty, and is lacking a lot of functions and newer protocolls.
Is there any chance in order to get it updated for study purposes? Or do i need to have something like a maintenance contract to get firmware updates for it?
I am also learning using Packet Tracer, but it feels even better with real iron in a real network enviroment.
I hope someone could help, and thanks in advance!
