I am getting the following critical message
EVENT DESCRIPTION = OutOfRange::Component=VOLT-172.24.1.253/3054 [Te1/5/4 Supply Voltage Sensor];ComponentClass=VoltageSensor;ComponentEventCode=1080;HighThreshold=5.0;Status=OK;CurrentValue=6.5;LowThreshold=1.0;entSensorValue=65;RelativeVoltageThreshold=0.0 %;
NOTIFICATION ORIGINATOR = Fault Management Module
is this a real problem and how can this be corrected ?

I have that seen that problem reported by LMS on an ASR router. At the time, it was identified as a bug (CSCtc18926) when I opened a TAC case.
Others have reported it with 10 Gbps interfaces. Search this forum for "VoltageSensor" and you will see several postings. I'd open a TAC case and in the meantime try Joe Clarke's suggestion in this thread:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3260929#3260929
11-15-2012 06:01 AM
in my case the voltage is 6.5 above the high threshold and not 0 as in Joe Clarke's suggestion
will see what cisco has to say...

Joe's suggestion was to address the point of unmanaging an individual component for which DFM or the Fault Management Module is giving erroneous readings.
You should first verify that your device itself believes the actual value to be within specification. Usually some variation of "show environment" on the end device will reveal the built-in thresholds.

tried "show environment" but didnt see anything about the above component, maybe i am missing something?:

Ah OK, it's a transceiver voltage alarm. In that case, the transceiver needs to be of the type that supports Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) (see this listing).
If it is, you will be able to use the command "show interface
show interface Te5/1 transceiver detail

Is it a Cisco transceiver or 3rd party?
If it's Cisco, it looks like the SFP is not reporting its voltage value properly - it's either an implementation bug on the hardware burned-in chip or else it may need to be RMA'd.
(Your output is for te1/5/5 and the original post was for 1/5/4 - are they both reporting the error?)
11-15-2012 11:47 AM
Its a Cisco transceiver (dont remember model)
Yes both are reporting the same.
