I don't see an easy way to get a count of ports on Cisco devices using CiscoWorks. I have found a way to get a count of all ports using the data extraction engine and posting the xml files with xsl templates applied to the CiscoWorks browser under Management Connections > Connections but this is an inventory of all ports. Now the customer would like to get a list of unused ports as well.
How could I do this?

Hi,
Go to RME/Inventory/Mulitservice portdetails
Look at the module port count
Copy and paste it to excell to sum them up with a formula

Thanks for you guys' responses. Hec, I never even seen MultiService Port Details before. I can only hope it contains more than just ports for modules. This is the problem I have using Custom Inventory Reports > Port Count. It doesn't work for 3550s or several other switches like that.
It looks like the other response about using user tracking should work along with this if switch ports aren't included on fixed port swithces.
Again, Thanks for the quick responses.
