How do I Achieve load-balancing Between two ISP Connections?

Hello Forum,

I admit I am new to Cisco routing but I can do some basic routing routines.

Please advise me on how I can achieve Load-Balancing of Two ISP Connections that are terminated on two Cisco Routers,

Router A (Cisco 2800 Series) has one ISP configured

Router B (Cisco 2900 Series) has the other ISP configured

ISP on Router A has 20 Mbps Bandwidth

ISP on Router B has 10 Mbps Bandwidth

I intend to combined the two to realized a higher output.

To achieve this I wish to introduce an extra Cisco 2900 series.

Can someone advise the best Routing protocol that will help me achieve this.

Thank you.

someone has the answer out there. Let us get the solution shared

Hi Maqasem,

Your response seems informative and like it can achieve my desired results.

Please share the link you have mentioned in the response. I am really interested in your method.

The two ISPs have each a public IP address.

Hello Jamei
I don't know if you got answer for this
But load balancing between 2 ISPs require you to have a public addresses that shared between the 2 and they can exchanges BGP routes between each others
If that the case refere to the following link on how to load balance with BGP
Now the second option that you don't comply with the above and the ISPs will not share the routing tables in that case you can do only outbound load balancing but no guarantee on the incoming
Normal static route with equal cost can do the job here
Hope that helped

Hope you have MPLS or Leased line links not internet link. In this case BGP is suitable on this, but bit complex.

To perform load balancing in simpler use static routing with same AD.....

Hi Jamie,

OER/PFR  will help you  perform load sharing between unequal bandwidth links terminated on different devices. BGP can be used as  Routing protocol.
