Hi RIZWAN MUSHTAQ,
Maybe you can help me. I have some doubts.
CiscoWorks and Netview are both NSM and have some identical features, like discovery, topology and analysis of network problems. They have separates inventories and applications for monitoring IPs devices.
The integrations between CiscoWorks and Netview will minimize the traffic to collect info from the IPs devices?
Can I do some thing to use the best from the two softwares but discard the same functions?
Why can I need Device Fault analysis in both software?
Tks

Both will generate similar (and not small) amount of traffic.
You can obtain common inventory by implementing Tivoli Inventory.
It seems that you can discard redundant functionality only by refusing to use the features of the product...

No, you cannot reduce anything that way. One the contrary, if you install both on the same machine you have to make sure CW's DFM doesn't crash with NetView on the SNMP ports 161/162. Actually, it is recommended to install them on different boxes.
