Inventory import from file

I have just installed a LMS3.0 on Solaris 10 and trying to import inventory in a csv format. (I exported inventory file from LMS2.6) When I do this I get the error

Import from file failed.

Reason: Invalid file format.

The file name is inv_export.csv.

Can anyone tell me what I could be doing wrong?

Chances are you left out the important header fields in the file. Can you post the file?

I shrinked the column while I was updating the file, could this have corrupted the file? What is the best practice to handle the export/import of the file.

Export the file from the source LMS server, then transfer it as-is to the destination server, and import it. While modifying the data is possible, and modifications to the special header rows at the top of the file will render the file useless.
