Hello,

you could be hitting the cosmetic bug below:

3650/3850 :: Crashinfo: filesystem high utilization with only default traces enabled
CSCvc14038
Customer Visible
Notifications
Save Bug
Open Support Case
Description
Symptom:
WS-C3650-12X48UQ switch might report a syslog about crashinfo: filesystem utilization exceeding 80%:

%PLATFORM-4-ELEMENT_WARNING:Switch 1 R0/0: smand: 1/RP/0: limited space - copy corefiles/switch-reports out of flash:core & crashinfo: directories. crashinfo: value 82% (118 MB) exceeds warning level 80% (116 MB)

Conditions:
Just default traces enabled.

The error message is cleared when the files are automatcally rotated:
%PLATFORM-4-ELEMENT_WARNING:Switch 1 R0/0: smand: 1/RP/0: crashinfo: usage has returned to appropriate level. value 36% (52 MB) is below warning level 80% (116 MB)

However the problem periodically comes back as the amount of traces gather increases (until they are again rotated).
The issue seems to arise from the fact that the switch has much smaller size of crashinfo: filesystem - 148MB comparing to other 3650 switches (eg. WS-C3650-48P) - 250MB

Workaround:
Configure Syslog Discriminator:

logging discriminator HIDE_LOG severity drops 4 facility drops PLATFORM mnemonics drops ELEMENT_WARNING
logging buffered discriminator HIDE_LOG 100000
logging console discriminator HIDE_LOG
logging monitor discriminator HIDE_LOG
