LMS 2.5 recognizes and manages all cisco active devices within the network. But my PC (NMS server) which runs LMS 2.5 is shown "failed device" on RME/config mgmt/config archival status. Only IP address of PC (LMS2.5 server) is visible.
I know LMS can not manage non-cisco devices but can't it at least recognize them in any way?
It is really disturbing to see "failed" notice each time.
Can not we make PC's and unix machines send snmp traps?
This device is probably showing in RME as an unknown device which won't give you much more than an inventory listing. It won't give any other functionality and you might want to remove it from the RME inventory if this is no benefit.
