hello,

LMS 3.0 and 3.01 has 5 difference SKU's

supported 100 300 1500 devices for single server can be installed all applications.

and supported 5000 and 10,000 devices for multiple server must be installed.

following document said solution server(means single server that installed all applications.) support up to 3000 device.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/3.0/install/guide/prep.html#wp1316616

Q.what SKU customer should purchase if 3000 devices or less than 5000 devices?

Q&A said SKU's can to be add.

Q. Are device counts additive?

A. No, device counts are not cumulative per server. If you purchase a 100-device SKU and an additional 100-device SKU, you do not get 200 managed devices on the same server. If you have 100 devices and now want to manage 200 devices, you would need to order the 300-device support SKU.

1) count the number of devices that should be managed by LMS

-> this defines the SKU you need

2) decide how to install LMS:

=> on a single server (Solution Server)

-> if you have a 100,300,1500 device license that's the only way

-> if you have a 5k or 10k license it is supported if the server does not manage more than 3000 devcices (and meets the hardware req.)

OR

=> each application (campus, RME, DFM IPM) on its own server OR a combination of applications on server1 and the rest on server2 ..

-> that is only possible if you have a 5k or 10k license

so, if the customer wants to manage more than 1500 and less then 5000 devices he needs to purchase a 5000k license
