LMS 3.2 & Cat6500: Inventory collection failed

Hi All,

I'm currently experiencing some problems with RME 4.3.0 (using LMS 3.2 on Win2k8 SP2, 64bit) where inventory collection fails on cat6500 switches running 12.2(33)SXI3, Sup720. The jobs fails with the error "Device Collection Failed." I've added ICserver.log.

Device updates from CS fail to install because of a consistency check error. I've added the logfile for this as well.

Go to RME > Devices > Device Management > RME Devices, select your Cat6500, and click Edit Device Attributes.  Perform an inline edit, and change the SNMP timeout to 10 seconds.  Save your changes, then apply them on the previous screen.  Your inventory collection should work then.

Hi Joseph,

When you Perform an inline edit, and change the SNMP timeout to 10 seconds through RME.  Do you know what command is used on the device ?

You are replying to a very old thread, closed in 2011.

We recommend to open a new thread for any new questions, and you can use the link for any previous reference.

For your question, when you change the timeout on LMS, it doesn't uses any command on devices. But when it polls a device, it will have 10 sec of timeout instead of default lesser value 2sec.

So any device taking more time to respond for any snmp query, LMS would still wait for the period, which is set as timeout.
