Any idea why inventoy collection is failing for nexus 7000? Config and User tracking is OK and I am getting inventory for all of my other model switches and routers.

What version of code is running on the Nexus?  What is the error you're seeing with inventory collection?  Post the IC_Server.log after reproducing the problem.

We are using nexus version 5.1(2) we also had the problem with 5.1(1a).

The error I see in the device status page just shows "failure" for inventory (data collection, user tracking, config collection, & fault  discovery all show success).

See attached log file.

Thanks.

It would be helpful to see a sniffer trace to see where the SNMP tooBig error is coming from.  Start a packet capture filtering on SNMP traffic between the LMS server and the Nexus.  Then perform a new inventory collection and post the capture file.

FWIW, I am using LMS 4.0 and collecting inventory fine on Nexus 7k running NX-OS 5.0(3)

See attched sniffer trace.

Thanks.

Oops try this one.

Looks like LMS 4.0 is still being bit by CSCtg28582, so I'm going to need to test this locally.  I should have a Nexus running 5.1.

I did notice that wireshark had some problems with the trace.

Here is an export from netscoute that looks much better.

I get the fail message at frame 445.

I see the problem.  If you open a service request using the "Open Service Request" link in the actions panel of this thread, I can provide a patch for you to try.

Unfortunately when we renewed our contract Ciscoworks support fell throught the cracks. I will open a ticket as soon as it is added to our contract.

Thanks for your help.
