LMS 4.1 on Windows 2003?

While LMS 4.0 is supported on Windows 2003, it appears that LMS 4.1 is not, per release notes. Is that a hard and fast rule? Will 4.1 install and run on Windows 2003, although not supported? I have 4.0.1 running on Windows 2003 and would like to upgrade to 4.1 but cannot upgrade to Windows 2008 at this time.

Thanks for any help - Ken.

Hi Ken,

LMS 4.1 is designed for windows 2008, while it may run in 2003 it would not be TAC supported.

You will have to migrate to  2008 server/VM to install LMS 4.1 and then restore a backup from the LMS 4.01 server.  Here is the migration guide.

I would recommend in addition to the backup you also export the Device and Credentials database , including credentials to a CSV file and store it on your PC as a D/R plan incase the restore does not complete, etc you may recover your devices.  Most likely it will not be needed.  Be sure to confirm validity of the backup ...\CSCOpx\log\dbbackup.log.
