Hi,

Below are my queries for a customers new requirement:

  1. Customer has currently unlimited license in their existing LMS 2.6 version. Is there any upgrade option for that?
  2. Is there any High availability option for LMS?
  3. What is the maximum device supported by one LMS server?

Regards,

Kern

1. IIRC, LMS 2.6 was the last version sold with a possible "unlimited" license. The biggest single LMS 4.1 license you can buy is 10K, according to Table 6. Cisco Prime LAN Management Solution 4.1 Upgrade Information for LMS 2.x/3.x at

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6504/ps6528/ps11200/product_bulletin_c25-652697.html

2. Here's the documentation on HA

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/4.1/install/guide/hasetup.html

3. "The maximum number of devices supported on a single server deployment is 5000;" according to

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6504/ps6528/ps11200/product_bulletin_c25-652697.html

Hi,

If i required LMS in HA mode. Do I to procure the same license as taken for primary server.

Kern

Please see the note in link #2 from yj above, to wit:

Licensing Information

In a high availability or a geographic redundancy option, the LMS is active on only one server at any given point in time. Hence only a single license of LMS needs to be procured to be shared between the two servers (Primary and Secondary servers) running in Active-Standby mode respectively.
