Have you checked this page?

https:///help/lms_getstart/index.html?supported_browser.html

It is probably that IE prevents the site from doing what it needs to do.

Make the site of your ciscoworks server is a trusted site, and that you don't go there via the proxy but direct.

Cheers,

Michel

Hi,

The IE version is 8.0.6001.18702

The ciscoworks is trusted site! We use certificate. The IE shows the following

And finally we set off the proxy settings. ( After upgrade from LMS 3.2 we used the proxy settigns without any problem )

I have no more idea  what could i do! i delete the java, temporar files , caches etc.

Actually, if you can download the jnlp then all should be fine.

Afterwards when the java webstart is started the whole thing is independed of the browser.

Can you make IE just download the file?

Then in the explorer open the downloaded file with the java webstart.

Cheers,

Michel

When you say it works in firefox, is that on the exact same client PC where you try IE8 ?

Cheers,

Michel

YES it is!!

That it my problem! What is the different between IE and Firefox ? Where can i find the missing settings in IE?

Regards,

Hi,

May be is independed of the browser but if i started under IE it was unsuccessfull.

I cleared the java from my computer and opened the LMS by IE. The java was intalled but topology map did not started.

Hi,

When i tried it with IP address instead of hostname it was well!

the client sent the alerting because of  download but after i accept it, everything works well.

https://10.42.10.227/campus/topoLaunch.do?navid=topoLaunch

There are no certificate problem but it is not working with hostname!

The client hosts file contains the 10.42.10.227 "ciscoworks" entry.

Any idea??

Regards,

No sorry,

I have no idea how this could work in FF and not work in IE, or only work when using the IP address in IE.

The FF browser will work faster with LMS then IE.

Cheers,

Michel

Thank for all!

That problem with FF browser is all link in topology map is appeared such red dotted line!!!

I would like to see this in IE!

Regards,

Karoly,

I don't know what is happening on the PC but the topology for FF, IE  or any other browser runs in a separate javaws.exe.

You can close the browser. It has no relation with that.

Cheers,

Michel

Hi,

Very thanks.

A lot of difference have to be there.

I think the problem is about certificate. I continue to search!!!

offtopic:

The topology map in IE is correct ( links are black )

Now the FF topology map is also correct after i saved it  IE.
