Any time an archive job completes with a status other than Successful, it will report as failed. Partially Successful devices will be identify as a failed device even though it was able to get the startup/running config and not the vlan information. Since the vlan info is the problem, you need to ensure that telnet or ssh is configured for that device.
Since you are saying this device does not belong in inventory, go RME --> Devices --> Device Management --> Normal Devices and delete it. Check under alias devices if its showing up as something else.
Goto Common Services --> Device Management --> Device and Credentials and delete the device from there.
