After following the instructions provided in the following forum discussions:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2130443
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9132
the installation of the LMS 4.2 (the end goal implies install 4.2.3) did not work as usual with this manufacturer apps. I am getting an error:
ERROR: Failed to execute C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx/bin/cwjava.exe -cw C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx -
cw:jre lib/jre -cp:p MDC/tomcat/webapps/rme/WEB
Something that should be relatively simple is an entire nightmare. I have tried at least 5 times to install this application (based on all the recommendations from the link and now I will have to rebuild the server and try from scratch). Can anyone please give me some orientation on this issue?
thanks a lot,
Abraham

Vinod,
Sorry, what do you mean by "delete the existing registry"?
thanks

Hi Vinod,
solution found, see note at the end of this post.
I am still running some tests on the application in order to certify all the features are working as expected.
thanks

Though take a backup of the registry, by doing a right click on it and export, remove the Apache and Cisco by deleting it.

Hi Vinod,
I still have something (CSCOpx) in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in the Registry in the Software --- > Wow6432Node --> ODBC --- > ODBCINST,INI --- > SQL Anywhere 10. Even though I uninstalled the LMS. See next screenshot.

Again, same error:
ERROR: Failed to execute C:\LMSApp\CSCOpx/bin/cwjava.exe -cw C:\LMSApp\CSCOpx -cw:jre lib/jre -cp:p MDC/tomcat/webapps/rme/WEB-INF

Hi Vinod,
Please let me know if you have some time at this moment to take a look on this issue,
Something that does not make sense to me. If I uninstall the application why I can still see the Cisco Prime RMENG, Cisco Prime Tomcat, Ciso Prime ANI, etc. See below:
thanks

Hi,
I have the same problem. Windows 2008 Enterprise R2 SP1 and LMS4.2_EVAL. I tried installing on a physical machine and VM without success. Maybe there is some compatibility issue between this specific version of Windows and LMS4.2. I tried it multiple times and everytime with a fresh installation of windows!
ERROR: Failed to execute C:\LMSApp\CSCOpx/bin/cwjava.exe -cw C:\LMSApp\CSCOpx -cw:jre lib/jre -cp:p MDC/tomcat/webapps/rme/WEB-INF
Vinod please shed a light on this issue.
Regards,
Osman

Hi Osman,
thanks for answering. Effectively, I tried the installation in 2 different windows server 2008, each one of them satisfied the requirements for the LMS installation and I got the same error. I tried all the possible combinations/configurations from the links mentioned at the beginning of this post with no sucess. I could only install the LMS in a VM but 2 days later started failing so I could not discover LAN devices and distribute IOS from that centralized server. We are rebuilding the Win Servers 2008 from scratch and try again.
regards

Taking into account that no solution has been found after working with the TAC Engineer. I decided to move on and test the application. Let's see if all the options are available.

This seems a very strange issue. I too would recommend, to ignore this process for now and start operating your LMS normally and check if you face any issue in normal operation.

Thanks Vinod,
In fact, I could install with no issues LMS 4.2.2 and 4.2.3. The only step remaining is to load a valid certificate for the LMS Server because I am getting an error. I know how to do this.

Hi Abraham, How do you get rid of the following error:
ERROR: Failed to execute C:\LMSApp\CSCOpx/bin/cwjava.exe -cw C:\LMSApp\CSCOpx -cw:jre lib/jre -cp:p MDC/tomcat/webapps/rme/WEB-INF
I still see this after installation hence I can't access to login page.

Hi Osman,
I tried some different configurations in the Windows Server 2008 for installing the LMS and I could not get rid of that error message even though I was able to access the server using HTTPS://ciscolms:1741 (instead of cisco lms use the IP address of the server if you do not have an entry in the DNS for the server name). We rebuilt the server from scratch but always the same result during the LMS installation.
Because I could not solve that error even working with the Cisco TAC, I decided to continue installing LMS 4.2.2 and LMS 4.2.3 and start using the application (both versions were installed with no issues/error messages - SEE SCREENSHOT BELOW).
Basically I installed the app using the steps indicated in the link:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9132
I will keep this case opened and updated with all the findings the I get when I use the LMS app.
