Hi
Failed to create alarms. giving follwing errors.
Failed to Create Alarm !
Cause
1)Could be invalid value for some of the entries
2)Could be due to lack of access to the host, invalid SNMP credentials or a busy device.
Action
1)Verify the values entered for all the entries.
2)Verify that the Alarm Variable resolves to one of the following ASN.1 primitive types
. INTEGER
. Integer32
. Counter32
. Counter64
. Gauge
. TimeTicks
3) Verify access, SNMP credentials or increasing timeout value through the preferences option.
SNMP credentials are already configured but still we are facing same problem.

What type of device, and exactly what parameters did you set for the alarm?

This doesn't tell me the device type. Additionally, for this object, delta is the wrong sample type. You want absolute.

Both of these device types support avgBusy5. Therefore, I would need to see a sniffer trace of the SNMP set operation which produces this error. You can use the built-in Packet Capture tool under Device Center > Tools to capture all traffic to UDP port 161 of one of the affected devices.

Hi Clark
meanwhile we are trying to do the above suggested solution.
could you plse tell me why this error occurs and tell me any other workarrounds for this besides the above one.

The sniffer trace will tell me why the error is occurring. I'm guessing there is either a credential problem, or some issue with the device.

If you have information that you cannot post to the forum, then you will need to open a TAC service request.
I don't understand what you want to do with SNMP Set.

Hi Clark
their is nothing like that,i can post the questions on forum.

ifEntry.20.1 denotes ifOutErrors for ifIndex 1. This object is read-only.
