Hi

can any one please point me in the right direction to identify the OID to show the “total MAC Addresses In Use” on a 6509

This is the value we can see from a show mac-address counters, and I want our Solarwinds system to poll for it

Many thanks

There is none.  This needs to be calculated from other SNMP objects.  Alternatively, have a look at the Custom MIB object package from the Embedded Automation Systems initiative under the downloads section at http://www.cisco.com/go/easy .  This package use the Embedded Event Manager to create a custom SNMP object in the EXPRESSION-MIB branch that can reflect the output of a show command.  Using this, you can take the output of "show mac address-table count" and pull out the total MACs in use.  The resulting EXPRESSION-MIB object can then be polled by Solarwinds.
