Prime Infrastructure 1.4: Clear Disk Space

In order to reduce disk space usage on Prime Infrastructure I will reduce the System Data Retention period (for aggregate data) and "Background Data Collection Task" raw data  retention (for non-aggregate data).   If I now run  'ncs stop / ncs cleanup / ncs start, will this inmediately clear the disk space or does some other event clear the disk space?

ncs cleanup should be able to retrieve some disk space.
