Prime Infrastructure 2.x ?

Does anyone have any idea on release date for 2.x?  I have a customer that we installed 1.x for and due to not being able to import XML files on the LMS, we had to postpone the LMS implementation. We are in a holding pattern until release of 2.x and   hopefully this feature will be carried over into the new platform. Any thoughts and or feebback on this would be greatly appreciated. The last I heard was it is projected for the first half of calendar year 2013. Cisco doesn't typically publicly announce release dates prior to the actual code shipping.

If you tune into the weekly WebEx on Cisco Prime (hosted by the business unit every Thursday), you may be able to get some more insight.

Also, last week Prime Infrastructure 2.0 appeard on the cisco download page: http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=284422771&catid=268439477&softwareid=284272933&release=2.0.0&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=all

It is however only 0.07MB in size and marked with "Testing purpose" and has no release notes.

The Cisco folks confirmed on today's webcast that the 2.0 link was only for testing (work in progress). The projected release date for PI 2.0 remains end of June 2013.

It's now due out in August (2013) according the product managers at Cisco Live Orlando last month.

They assured me they mean it this time.

Login to CCO and you use the link I provided in my last post. Your browser should open the CCO software download site showing the available "Cisco Prime Infrasturcture 2.0" software; From there you can directly click on "download" or add the parts to your cart.

I just verified the link is correct and I yet downloaded the software - I see no problem here.

I also tried to use the Cisco Marketplace, but it seems to be currently down and I did not get are response yet concerning this issue.

Service Contract numbers or bill ids are typically used on the licensing portal not the SW download portal.

The CCO (cisco.com old name (Cisco Connection Online) still in common use) direct download is only for registered users with a service contract entitlement associated with their cisco.com userid. (e.g a Prime Infrastructure or Prime LMS with SASU).

Anyone, partner or not, can download via the trail software store hosted by mediuscorp and reachable via the redirection at www.cisco.com/go/nmsevals and choosing "Network Management Trial Downloads". PI 2.0 is featured on the first page of the listing that follows.

Partners are additionally eligible for a NFR (Not For Resale) license that extends the 60 day 100 devices license to one year. (There is also another type of customer trial license available for partners performing a Cisco Funded Network Assessment.)
