Hi Guys,

I have in my project Cisco PI 2.2 install in vmware and I have these licenses:

LMS to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.x Upgrade  " I installed this license with base and it's OK "

Prime Infrastructure - LMS License Kit " This license I couldn't be able to install it in PI2.2 and gave me wrong PID! because when I get it by PAK didn't asked me to add PID and SN of appliance"

How to install LMS license Kit in PI2.2.

Thanks for your help!

Mohammad

The LMS license kit is for a separate server running the Cisco Prime LMS product. It cannot be used with or co-exist on your Cisco Prime Infrastructure server.

Cisco provided the LMS licenses as a measure to allow customers who need the LMS features that were not yet available on Prime infrastructure to continue to operate on the older (but in some ways more capable) product.

Even if you run both products on separate servers there is no integration between them and they have no awareness of one another.

Hi Marvin,

So you mean I have to install LMS 4.2 in server to be able to use those licenses!

But what does it mean by this:

Product Name      Product Description                                            Entitlement Qty

R-L-PI2X-U-K9    LMS to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.x Upgrade         1

I understand that upgrade from LMS to PI!

So I can use LMS licenses in PI...right?

Thanks

Mohammad

Yes - as I noted to use Prime LMS licenses you must have a Prime LMS server. LMS licenses cannot be installed or otherwise used on Prime Infrastructure or any other product or server

The "LMS to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.x Upgrade"product description means your company was able to get a discounted price when purchasing Prime Infrastructure because they had existing licenses for LMS.

Note it doesn't mean the LMS product was ever installed or used - simply that your company had purchased it at some point in the past.

This is the purchased:

R-N-PI2X-U-K9NCS 1.0 to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.x Upgrade1
L-N-PI2X-500-UNCS 1.0 to Prime Infrastructure 2.0 Upg 500 Device1
R-PI22-SW-K9Prime Infrastructure 2.2 Software1
L-PILMS42A-500-MPrime Infrastructure LMS 4.2A - 500 Device Upgrade Lic1
L-PILMS42-KITPrime Infrastructure - LMS License Kit1
R-L-PI2X-U-K9LMS to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.x Upgrade1
L-L-PI2X-300-ULMS to Prime Infrastructure 2.x Upgrade 300 Device1
R-PI22-SW-K9Prime Infrastructure 2.2 Software1
L-PI2X-BASEPrime Infrastructure 2.x Base License1
L-PILMS42-KITPrime Infrastructure - LMS License Kit1
L-PILMS42A-300-MPrime Infrastructure LMS 4.2A - 300 Device Upgrade Lic1

How to get 500 device with NCS.1 which is upgrade it into PI!

I didn't get this is it license or what?

Thanks for your explanation

Mohammad

I mean about this how can I use it and there is no PAK for this:

Product Name          Product Description                                                       Entitlement Qty

L-N-PI2X-500-U      NCS 1.0 to Prime Infrastructure 2.0 Upg 500 Device              1
This certificate is your Right to Use Prime Infrastructure 2.x with your earlier purchased NCS 1.0 licenses for the indicated license count.

No PAK # with this papare! How can I use it

Thanks

Mohammad

As the text in your post indicates, that part number is for right to use earlier-purchased NCS licenses. It does not include a new PAK.

If you no longer have the NCS system installed or are rehosting vs. inline upgrade then you should open a TAC case to get a license file re-issued for use with your Prime Infrastructure server.

They may may advise you to go straight to the current release (3.2) if you are doing a new installation. There are very few reasons to run 2.x.
