We installed a fresh prime LMS 4.2 successfully, we were able to login to the GUI, later we restored a backup taken from ciscoworks lms 4.0.1 but we were unable to login using any of the new created admin password or the old one as well.
We reset the password using the resetpasswd.exe utility but still we are unable to login, it gives a wrong credetials error.
If any one can assist in this case, thanks

Hi,
Stop the LMS service then.
Go to the servers command prompt and go to the following directory: C:/Program Files/CSCOpx/bin> Here type the following command: perl ResetLoginModule.pl Example:- C:/Program Files/CSCOpx/bin>perl ResetLoginModule.pl
Thanks-

Please make sure of following :
-The old LMS was not configured for AAA auth.
- The username and password of old LMS 4.0.1 should work, try it.
In case it doesnt work, try following :
1. Stop the Daemon Manager by typing on DOS: net stop crmdmgtd.
2. Go to this location:
Windows: C:\Program Files\CSCOpx\lib\classpath\com\cisco\nm\cmf\servlet\cwpass
Solaris: /opt/CSCOpx/lib/classpath/com/cisco/nm/cmf/servlet/cwpass
3. Rename cwpass to cwpass.oldbackup.
4. Now go to:
Windows: C:\Program Files\CSCOpx\lib\classpath\com\cisco\nm\cmf\servlet\orig\cwpass.
Solaris: /opt/CSCOpx/lib/classpath/com/cisco/nm/cmf/servlet/orig/cwpass
5. Copy the \CSCOpx\lib\classpath\com\cisco\nm\cmf\servlet\orig\cwpass to
\CSCOpx\lib\classpath\com\cisco\nm\cmf\servlet\. Be careful NOT to delete the \orig\cwpass or you will loose the ability to reset the admin password.
6. Restart the Daemon Manager: net start crmdmgtd.
-Thanks
Vinod
