problem Backup LMS & RME Data

Hi All,

I wonder if you can help me out with an issue I am having on CiscoWorks LMS v4.0.1.  I am running this on Windows Server 2008R2.

In fact we have two problems on the server LMS:

1) I have a message "backup failed" for each backup requested. I checked the file dbbackup.log, and there is the following message:

[Fri September 9 10:30:51 2011] ERROR (1697): Fatal error: File D: \ CSCOpx \ databases \ rmeng \ SyslogFirst.db does not exist.

[Fri September 9 10:30:51 2011] Backup failed: 2011/09/09 10:31:01

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

[Fri September 9 2011 10:31:02] INFO: Notifying BackupFailureEvent.

I checked the file "SyslogFirst.db" is not present and I have no backup of this file. How can I do to rectify the situation?

2) Also sometimes when you restart the server LMS, the service "CiscoWorks RME NG database engine" can not start and we have the process "ConfigMgmtServer" which remains in shutdown.

thank you for your help

Hi,

someone deleted or corrupted the SyslogFirst.db under D:\CSCOpx\databases\rmeng. Just copy SyslogFirst.dborig from D:\CSCOpx\databases\rmeng\orig to the D:\CSCOpx\databases\rmeng\SyslogFirst.db  - this should fix the both issues.

Hi,

after copy file SyslogFirts.dborig and rename SyslogFirst.db to the D:\CSCOpx\databases\rmeng\SyslogFirst.db.

When backup, i had always "Backup Failed" and I checked the file dbbackup.log, and there is the following message:
