I dont think you can access Whatsup Gold through Cisco Works GUI. They are different softwares which operate independently. Cisco Works is a Device management tool, whereas whatsup gold is a fault management tool. Both cannot be integrated. Thats the reason you are having problems accessing Whats up gold through Cisco Works.

Do you have any idea of what you are talking about ?!
WUG are bundled with SNMS1.5 and fully integrated with Cisco icons etc
And yes you can access it from within the SNMS GUI - It's the first page !
As to the problem, try read the user manual to address your problem - I have no idea of what you are trying to do is ok or not.
But I recall that the wug service has to be started first, and is started only when you logon the the server.
Try to see if it isnt in the manual-

Again, everything working just perfect from the server mashine, the problem exist ONLY FOR REMOTE ACCESS and only when you click the WUG link within CiscoWorks GUI. If you try to access WUG directly its ok.

Helo,
I'm having a similar problem with SNMS and WUG.
When accessing whatsup gold via the SNMS gui i get an error like "page cannot be displayed" but i get some interesting aditional info. it shows the URL it's trying to reach. "username:password@server:1742"
I suppose the credentials are being passed by the aplication itself and are being rejected for some reason.maybe the directed authentication method.
I always thought that IExplorer suported username:password@server authetication.
Trying this directly in the browser dosen't work as well.
This dosen't happen with firefox, everything works fine
any ideias?

Ok, think i found the issue here.
Since a recent IExplorer fix url authentication is no longer possible.
Witch is the exactly the way that SNMS uses to authenticate with WhatsUP gold server.
Nice......

Hmm, I thought it would just popup a username password box then?
Any way to get this fix out of the Iexplorer again? Or to change the url used in SNMS?
I have a customer using SNMS it via rdp because they don't have the (admin) rights to change the java on their pc's but have planned to "fix" this soon.
Cheers,
Michel

Here's the link with the fix info:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS04-004.mspx
I suppose you can unistall the fix, but i don't thing this would be the best way to go...
Firefox works fine for me, so i feel it's best not to play around with the platform.
I will address cisco on this matter.
Best Regards
