RME syslog analyzer: How turn off DNS ?

Hi,

My customer wants to manage their devices by ip address only. No DNS entries, for security reasons.

But crmlog.exe (LMS 2.2 IDU9 / Win2k Adv Server SP4) keeps trying to do reverse lookups of the sender ip addresses of syslog messages with the result of a total degradation of performance due to the DNS timeouts.

Would anyone know who to turn off the use of DNS in RME syslog analyzer on Win2k? I bet I've seen something in an old discussion thread, but I can't find it again.

Hi george,

Cant you stop the services related to DNS on the VMS server ? DNS is anyway not required for VMS operation.

Thanks for your recommendation. But you're actually just repeating my question: How can I turn off DNS queries?

The other day, I came across some posting in this forum where somebody explained which debugging settings (bit mask) turn it off. But I simply can't find that posting anymore.
