I am looking for a tool that will alert me when route tables change. Something that does a continous trace to a given address and alerts me when the path changes would also work. Does anyone know of a tool that will do this?

For the latter, a DIY shell/perl script would do.
For commercial products, HP Route Analytics Management software (RAMS) can do this and much more:
