Hello,
I have a couple of 3750 switches which I am trying to setup syslog logging on. Here is my current config.
logging on
logging 10.0.0.1
logging buffered 16000
logging console critical
logging trap informational
logging facility local1
This works great, but I am seeing an interface log each time someone shuts off their computer, or turns it on. Lots of "up/down" link logs. Is there anyway to filter out the interface link traps?
Thanks.
EDIT: I've been reading here -> ( http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/11_0/debug/command/reference/dintro.html ) about the logging command, but the document doesn't really describe what the logging facilitys are used for. I understand that there are seven of them, but what purpose do they serve?

Under each port from which you do not want link up/down messages configure:
no logging event link-status

Very nice. I didn't know that.
Now, how to keep this kind of information without copying it :(
Thanks,
