Router Serial Numbers Remotely?

I was just wondering if there is any way to get a Cisco router's serial number from the IOS or config. I am mostly dealing with 2500's from 1999-2000. Any info appreciated. Thanks.

You could if someone has configured the following:

snmp-server chassis-id

Else, the serial number reported via SNMP may not be correct
